In an ancient land, a rebellion has mounted against a tyrant. Civil war has ripped that land to shreds. Out of this fight, ethnic and religious paramilitary groups do battle with the tyrannical government, as well as each other. Millions of refugees have been created and are destabilizing not only the region, but also surrounding regions. The country that I’m talking about is Syria. The situation there is grim. It will not resolve itself. Therefore, the U.S. must gather an international coalition and stabilize that country as it did in the Balkans, before all is lost.
